2020 is upon us and the resolutions are piling up. This is the time of year where a lot of people overwhelm themselves with goals that they most times won’t achieve. I’ll give you some tips on how I set goals so I can actually get to checking them off my list. Choose A Goal Unique To You
It’s easy to fall into the typical things most people will do. Unless the goal is something you really want, steer clear. Yes, some may be impressed with what you accomplished, but at the end of the day it matters more to your wants and needs. Ask yourself the following questions: What do I really want? Why do I want it? What do I need to do? This group of questions will help you navigate and hone in on what’s best for you. Get Your Goals On Paper It’s something about an old pen and pad that helps me get things done. I feel like it leaves my mind and once it's on a more tangible medium that keeps me accountable. I don’t know why it works but it just does. The above questions you asked yourself earlier can now be written down. I advise no more than 10 goals in a year. It’s even better if you have a few that can either be spread out or that can be taken care of at a different time of the year. I like to do 2 or 3 goals per quarter, this helps me not to overthink and overwork myself trying to get a million things done in a short time. Now you defined your goals and how you will achieve them. Some roadblocks may get in the way, but hey that’s life.
